Therapeutic Counselling in Hertford, Ware, Cambridge & Bishop's Stortford

Emma Foltynie

I create a confidential, compassionate and open-minded environment where you can feel safe and empowered to explore your experiences and imagine how you want your life to be. No concern is too big or too small; if something is weighing on you or making you feel stuck, it's important you can address it with someone you trust.

Counselling isn’t only about tackling negative challenges and sadness; it can be a pathway to hope and positive change. I understand that discussing our deepest thoughts and feelings can be challenging. That's why I ensure our sessions move at your pace, so you can explore what matters to you in a way that feels comfortable. I can use creative approaches and different resources to help you find the words if it gets difficult. I also have a strong interest in breathwork, which I find can be beneficial when we’re feeling vulnerable, anxious, or stuck.

As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of approaches to tailor your counselling experience to your unique needs. I respect that you are the expert in your life but sometimes when life gets tricky it can be hard to see which way to go. My holistic approach considers your life experiences, your current situation, and your aspirations for the future. I provide a safe and empathetic environment where you can express yourself freely, without fear of judgment.

I offer a free, 15–20-minute consultation to answer any questions you have about counselling or the way I work. This also gives us the opportunity get to know each other a bit before you decide if you’d like to start your counselling with me.
